volume pricing discount
i have volume pricing on all items in my inventory, but it is not being utilized by Ebay. Is it necessary to have the buyer place the item (s) in the cart in order for ebay to calculate volume pricing I have added. I guess I just do not understand what is going on.

Mentor3 years agoI don't see any of your listings with volume pricing. When I have 4 identical items in a listing, I will give a discount when a buyer buys 2 of the items, 3 of the items or 4 of the items.

OP3 years agoAppreciate your response. I do have volume pricing set up on all my items but did not realize they need to place all items in the Add to cart to take advantage of the pricing. I added a note in my about section to remind buyers to place all items in Add to Cart to take advantage of volume pricing, even if there is only only item for which they will not receive any additional volume markdown. I have included volume pricing available on the last line of my descriptions for every item. I am thinking I need also to Add to Cart on every item. This has been very confusing and could never find an agent who could clearly define it for me. I finally taked to a person who is responsible for the selling function, and he made it very clear what needed to happen. Thank you. Ebay presents all invoices which I never see, so it is difficult when the buyer has already paid for an item. I also had a coupon running for $10 off of $30+ for up to 3 purchases. It was a better option to just purchase 3 low-cost items individually. That coupon ended, so I prepared a new coupon. to enhance my profit a bit.

Mentor3 years agoI see an offer of an extra $10 off $30, but I do not see an offer of volume pricing, except that it is mentioned in your description. Maybe that offer has expired? Check your marketing promotions for the exp date.
Offers that involve multiple items do require the buyer to put items in their cart and make a single purchase to apply the offer.

OP3 years agoThank your, wooden_flower, but I could find no other place to put my volume pricing, even after many conversations with the help line agent. I finally spoke to someone who works with selling in the ebay realm, and he told me a buyer needs to place the multiple items in Add to Cart in order to take advantage of the volume discounts. When using my coupon for $10 off $30+, it was limited to one purchase per coupon. If you wished to take the volume pricing, it would have been added to the cart and ebay would take the appropriate volume pricing discount for the entire cart, whether it be two, three or four or more items. Depending on the price of the items, you may have done better with the volume discount. Volume pricing starts on item 2 through 4. Obviously, 3 $30 item at $10 off each item was a better discount. However, the coupon was limited to 3 uses. The same 3 $30 items in volume pricing would have netted a savings of only $11.70 for all three items. I have 3 levels set up to increase a bit at each level. There is no place that I can find to advertise how the volume pricing works other than what is stated in the help section of ebay. I hope someone from the selling department reads this and lets me know if I do not have it figured correctly. I hope this clarifies your questions. As I read it, the coupons only are printed for the buyers and placed on each selected item, and ebay is responsible for managing the number of uses for each buyer. That does not happen with volume pricing unless all items are placed in the Add to Cart.

Mentor3 years agoYes, the buyer does have to use the cart for a discount that involves multiple items. How else would eBay know the buyer is purchasing more than 1 item?
The heading with the discount offer will say 'add to cart'. when multiple items are involved. I think that if the volume offer was the only offer you had running, you would see the 'add to cart' next to the offer. eBay only advertises 1 offer for you - they pick the one they think more buyers would find appealing.
