Very upset about dropping American Express as a payment method
Come on eBay! Figure this out and work something out with AMEX. There are a lot of us that want to continue to be able to use AMEX for eBay purchases and eBay needs to just suck it up as a necessary cost of business to pay the fees and stop crying about it. AMEX may charge a slightly higher fee for transactions, but you are a big business and should be able to accommodate this for your customers sake. Let's here from other AMEX users that want to continue to use AMEX for payments.

This topic was exhaustively posted about back when the announcement came out. You'll find lots of posts if you do a search. You may still be able to use AMEX as your payment source by paying through PayPal, but it remains to be seen if this workaround will be nixed as well.
However to give you something else to think about here... eBay doesn't absorb fees (nor does any business). If their expenses go up, then seller fees are increased. If seller fees are increased, prices go higher for buyers. Buyers are the ones who always pay when costs go up (think about what you are paying for food and gasoline and cars and homes and everything else now versus four years ago).
