VeRO Brand Name Misuse Policy
I had 2 listings removed because of the VeRO Brand Name Misuse Policy. The policy states, "Brand names cannot be used in listings if the product isn’t manufactured by, or compatible with, that brand." But these 2 products are in the original packaging and the brand is printed on the packaging.
eBay says to appeal to the brand owner and if they grant the appeal to have them contact eBay. I don't see that happening.
Has anyone successfully dealt with this problem? Do I just remove the brand name from the title? Should I also remove it from the description? It will still be in the item pictures.

Mentor3 years agoMembers of VeRO do not want anyone else selling their products on the secondary market. Period. No appeal. It is their name brand and they have every right to do so. Do not relist the items, find something else to sell.

OP3 years agoThanks for your answer. Here's our update. We did appeal to the brand owner who turned it over to a company handling their legal issues. We provided receipts and proof that we use our own images and our listings were reinstated. But then we had to go through the same process for each listing of that brand.

Mentor3 years agoYou need to contain the VeRO member using the contact information in the message you received.
It's illegal to list counterfeits even if you remove the packaging or leave off the brand in the title. Having the original receipt from an authorized retailer or the manufacturer handy when you contact them will help.

OP3 years agoThank you for the reply, but we are not trying to sell counterfeit products. We bought some products that were liquidated, but they are in the original manufacturer packaging with brand and upc codes printed on the packaging. Our receipt does not list individual model numbers, just the number of items and price we paid, so I don't know if that is enough to validate the product.
We are planning to contact the manufacturer, but it seems we are automatically considered guilty and our listings removed before we are given a chance to answer the charge. I was just looking for any advice from anyone else that has experienced this.
