Verification process started again after my W-8BEN was already approved
Summary: rokitoxshop is experiencing issues with eBay's verification process, despite having their W-8BEN approved a month ago. They are based in Germany and are frustrated with the re-verification requirement and the system's rejection of their documents. comics-scifi-collectibles suggests using their physical address for registration and contacting eBay's customer service via social media. Despite rokitoxshop's attempts to resolve the issue, including contacting eBay Germany, they remain unsure about the status of their account as it indicates a need for identity verification rather than suspension. krazzykats recommends checking with the eBay.de Community for further assistance.
I’m having a very frustrating issue with my eBay account and I’m hoping someone here has experienced something similar.
About one month ago, my Form W-8BEN was finally approved by eBay. The original verification process took approximately four months, so I thought everything had finally been resolved.
However, my account has now been placed into the verification process again.
I do not live in the United States. I live in Germany, and I am submitting my German identity and residency information as requested. However, every time I submit my identification documents, the system does not accept them.
What I don’t understand is why I am being asked to go through this entire process again when my W-8BEN and account information were already reviewed and approved only about a month ago.
I have also tried contacting eBay by email, but unfortunately I am not receiving any response.
At this point I don’t know what else I am supposed to submit or what exactly is wrong with my verification.
Has anyone experienced the same situation?
Can eBay restart the verification process even after a W-8BEN has already been approved?
Is there a specific verification department or support team I should contact?
What should I do if the automated system keeps rejecting valid German identification documents?
Is there any way to have this reviewed manually by a verification specialist?

Mentor1 month ago@rokitoxshop eBay requires sellers to use their physical address for their registration address. This is probably why the approval ultimately failed. When a cell phone verification is done it must be in the same location as the registration address.
You could have registered an account on the Germany site and then listed items for sale on eBay.com.
You can try contacting customer service on social media.

OP1 month agoYes, but U.S. accounts are better quality. I already provided all the required information, and I also included my physical address on the form. I also have an ITIN number, but I don’t understand why they’re making this such a big issue.

Mentor1 month ago@rokitoxshop You can open an eBay account using your Germany information and list on eBay.com
I understand that this is not what you are wanting to do though.
My only other advice is to contact the eBay Germany community and see if other sellers had any luck setting up an account this way> https://community.ebay.de/
I personally have not heard of it working, doesn't mean that this is a workaround that I am not aware of.

OP3 weeks agoI contacted eBay Germany customer service, and they told me that my account has been permanently suspended. However, I don’t see any message on my account saying that it is permanently suspended. It only says that I need to verify my identity. Am I really permanently suspended?
The image does not say that my account has been permanently suspended...
