eBay will not allow me to buy anything sharp. I use it mostly for tools, but i dont have a credit card, and i dont want one. I've been a member since the start.

You will likely need to provide a credit card to prove your age in the UK.
You may want to ask about this on the UK community boards, as UK rules are different regarding edged items.
