Vehicle sold, buyer hasn’t paid deposit and no cancel option after 24 hours
Hi everyone,
I’m looking for guidance on an eBay Motors Secure Purchase issue.
I sold a vehicle with Secure Purchase enabled and an immediate $500 deposit required. The buyer completed the purchase, but no deposit or payment has been made and the order still shows Awaiting payment.
It has now been over 24 hours, but I do not see an option to cancel the order as buyer didn’t pay. The only option available is to send a payment reminder.
How long does eBay typically lock seller cancellation on vehicle listings with Secure Purchase? Is there a way to cancel this order as buyer didn’t pay so I can relist with seller protections? Should I contact eBay support directly, or will the cancel option unlock automatically after a longer period?
I want to make sure I handle this correctly so it doesn’t affect my seller metrics or relist credit.
