Utterly frustrated with seller and eBay in efforts to get either Refund or Item that works
3-10-23: Ordered Motorola HX550 Black Ear-Hook for total of $81.74 from seller who had stated: Returns not accepted.
3-20-24: Sent seller message: "This Ear-Hook is defective. It absolutely will not charge. I have tried with 4 different charging cables, all of which work with my other HX550, but this unit will not charge on any of them, even when left on for 24 hours or more. PLEASE REFUND MY MONEY or SEND ME A UNIT THAT WORKS. If you choose the latter option, I suggest that you send it fully charged, which should guarantee that it arrives with at least a partial charge showing therefore that it is working. The one you sent me arrived fully dead and has remained fully dead despite all my efforts to charge it."
3-25-24: Sent seller 2nd message: "Why have you not responded to the urgent message I sent you 5 days ago requesting either a REFUND or AN HX550 THAT WORKS? Do I have to escalate this to get it resolved?"
3-25-24: Got this response just 4 minutes later: "Hello, I have been out of town on an emergency and haven't been able to respond to any of my messages, why did you leave a bad review before hearing back from me, can tou please remove negative feedback? I have another model that is better that I could send you if you please send this one back. Thank you , please let me know"
3-25-24: My reply less than an hour later: "1st, I am not familiar with eBay and didn't know I had left you ANY review; I thought I'd only left a message to you and then a follow up today when you had not responded in 5 days. 2nd, you said you do not accept returns on this item, and I am willing to return it ONLY if you pay shipping costs. It is not my fault that it is totally defective. 3rd, I will be glad to remove the negative feedback IF you tell me how that can be done, but ONLY after you have either refunded my money OR replaced the defective unit with one that works. Otherwise my feedback will only get worse. 4th, if you want me to return the defective unit at your expense, tell me how you will cover the shipping cost."
Five days later I have still received no further response from the seller. I have tried to contact eBay about the matter, but my situation does not fit in any of the 10 options given under "What can we help you with today? Please select one." at https://www.ebay.com/help/call_us?type=ContactUs&topicId=4000, and I run into a dead end when I attempt to use any of them for this purpose. It is way too complex for the Automated Assistant as I learned the hard way, so the AA then said an agent would call me in "about 1 minute to see how we can best help you." Several hours later I saw that eBay had tried to call me twice, but my phone never registered an incoming call either time (apparently because of a spam filter that I do not know how to change). I have now wasted several hours over several days trying to get this matter resolved. I am very frustrated with the seller, and with eBay for making it so difficult to communicate with them, for there is no online option for my particular situation and no provision for being able to call them. At 79 years of age I have no desire to deal with this seller again and will have no desire to buy on eBay again if I do not receive either a refund or a replacement product that actually works--without any further cost to me.
