USPS Snafu
Ok I mailed an item that I sold 2 days before a winter storm hit. The postal service has the item but I've seen NO MOVEMENT. They keep saying they are waiting for the item. THEY HAVE THE ITEM THEY'VE NOT SCANNED IT. The ship by date has come and gone and I can't get any answers. What do I do to light a fire under the USPS?

-If you stood in line and had the clerk scan it and you left with a receipt then they should have record of it. If all you did was drop it off in a drop box or drop off lane you are at risk of not getting the initial Acceptance scan which could affect you despite eBay's current protection for Sellers per the link below. The package may get scans when it gets to the next bulk package distribution center, that's normal and the systems are automated.
You can try filing a Missing Mail piece with USPS on their website, sometimes that can shake a package loose.
Here is a link to an eBay announcement explaining that Seller protections are in place and will protect you during a severe weather event like we have had with Winter Storm Fern. You can message your customers and let them know there will be a possible delay in shipping.
