USPS shows the item arrived with the buyer but they say they say it was stolen before they got it.
USPS shows that the item I mailed to the buyer has arrived but they contacted me and said the item was stolen before they could get it. The tracking info and address are all properly entered into EBay. I suggested for the Buyer to open an “item not received†request in eBay but they said they can't because the item is shown as "Delivered". What should I do?

Mentor2 years agoThe buyer is responsible for the package once it is delivered, so even if he could open the not received claim (against you) it would close with no refund. He is responsible for providing a secure place for delivery.
Send the buyer a sympathetic note explaining that eBay will not cover his loss - it would be a claim for his home insurance, if the amount is over his deductible. Suggest that he have his packages held for pickup, if theft is an issue in his area.
