USPS Shipping Services
Is anyone else tired of having to use the USPS through Ebay? First, items being sent to me in PA from anywhere in the US always seem to go to NJ, then back to TX, then to MA, then back to NJ. ????? Also, the USPS First Class Letter service...ever follow the tracking through to the USPS site? They don't even acknowledge that the tracking number exists. Trying to see if it's just me or is Ebay failing miserably. Any tips on another online platform to sell goods? Thanks!

You do not have to use usps if you are not satisfied with the service. That has nothing to do with eBay. For recurring problems with ground advantage or priority, talk to your post master.
The eBay standard envelope is a special version of first class. USPS does not offer tracking on first class. The special tracking comes from the letter sorting equipment. You can view the tracking here - https://www.trackmyshipment.co/
We cannot help you find other selling venues.

Mentor8 months agoHi @centennialauctions
I typically see east bound shipments via USPS take longer than west bound shipments for some reason. When I buy they are slow getting here and I am in PA too and see them go through New Jersey as well sometime. As a matter of fact, I have a return coming back from the mid-west and it went through New Jersey but is now showing it is in PA.
First class letters are NOT a tracked service with USPS.
If you mean eBay Standard Envelope that is Metered Mail and is only "tracked" to the highspeed mail sorting machine one stop upstream from the zip code the customer is in.

Yes, I was inquiring about the ESE.
...and I have no idea what is going on with the USPS... see the below tracking history for an item from CA to PA I am still waiting for.

Wow ... that's quite the tracking history.
Well, if you are buying then just file an item not received claim if it is past the original estimated delivery date. As you know, the Seller can file for a refund through eBay for a failed ESE delivery.
I assume you are sharing this as a Buyer because there is nothing you have sold this month that would qualify for ESE.

When you see wacky tracking like this, you aren’t usually seeing the package go back and forth physically - this is just on paper.
Many of the tracking entries are based on the manifest scan - the expected routing of a package. When the actual package count doesn’t match the manifest, you get these circular entries until things are back in balance. (My PO supervisor showed me how the various bins of packages are grouped into larger bin scans and manifested for processing.)

Mentor8 months agoItems can be shipped through any Ebay authorized carrier.... such as USPS, UPS, FedEx, DHL, OnTrac, etc.
Read this: https://www.ebay.com/help/selling/posting-items/setting-postage-options?id=4089
Ebay is not responsible for any problems/delays during shipping transit.
