USPS put mailing sticker on wrong package
I purchased a golf club from a buyer. He messaged that it was in the mail and gave me the tracking number. A few days later, I got the notice from eBay that the package had been delivered, I went outside to get it. There was no long package with a golf club anywhere around my house, no my neighbors’ houses. I double checked the tracking history and it showed that it had indeed been delivered to my front porch. My delivery that day was a pair of shoes and an envelope from Amazon (not eBay) that contained 2 pairs of men’s long underwear, which I did not order. I immediately checked my order history on Amazon to see if I ordered them by accident, but I did not. I set them aside to deal with later. I contacted my mail person and she said she had been off the day of the delivery and had a sub. She said she would talk to her supervisor. The supervisor called me. I explained to him what happened and sent photos and video from my ring camera showing that I had not received a long package worthy of holding a golf club. He agreed with me. He looked closely at the time stamp when the package was supposedly delivered. There was a delivery person (I guess the substitute mailman) who set 2 packages on my porch. One was the Amazon envelope. The supervisor said “That’s the package.†I told him it couldn’t be because my order was coming from eBay, not Amazon. He asked me to check that package. So I went and got it. Sure enough, the package label has the eBay tracking number, the eBay seller’s name and return address, as well as my name and delivery address. So we determined that the shipping label from my package had been accidentally switched with the shipping label for another package. I told the seller what we discovered. He said he does not sell out of Amazon. He got the shipping label from eBay and dropped the label and package at the post office. So I’m assuming the post office is the one that accidentally switched the labels. And now we have NO idea where the golf club has gone. I have tried to reach out to eBay, but the only thing I can do is file a report of an idea not received. They place to type what happened is too small to explain adequately, but I tried. They sent my inquiry to the seller (whom I’ve already discussed with to no end) and told me to wait for a reply. Of course he replied that he mailed the club and doesn’t know how the label got put on the wrong package-he doesn’t sell long John’s. My recourse now is to wait til Dec. 25 and if not resolved by then, contact eBay again. But it doesn’t tell me how to contact them. The only options I can find are to open an inquiry and I’ve already done that! Can anyone give me a phone number to talk to a real person????? Thanks for reading!

You need to file a not as described return request. Do not file a not received refund request as tracking shows delivery .
The eBay Money Back Guarantee over rules the sellers return policy. You have 30 days from the date of delivery to file a not as described return request for most categories AND 3 days for Trading Cards.
Here's what you need to do:
Open a return with the reason doesn't match description or photos.
Select the return item button on this page:
https://www.ebay.com/help/buying/returns-refunds/return-item-refund?id=4041&st=
4 business days after filing the return request if the seller has not provided a return shipping label or a full refund then ask eBay to step in and help: https://www.ebay.com/help/buying/returns-refunds/ask-ebay-to-step-in?id=4701
Let me know if you need to return an item to another country as there are additional steps required. The seller pays return shipping for an item that is not as described no matter where they are located.
