USPS over charges
Hello I was wondering if anyone else is having issues with usps over charging . I go thru eBay for the labels but was charged an additional $118 on one item and $61 on another. These are the 2 biggest ones yet. I have actual weight and dimensions from the manufacturer yet usps is stating my item was literally 6xs what I calculated for Its impossible and eBay and usps will not help in anyway Suggestions pls

Mentor4 months ago@alperf29 That's frustrating. Are you sure that you are measuring your boxes carefully? Do NOT use the measurements printed on a box as that's for the inside. Just one inch more on the outside dimensions can add $ to the shipping when the box is over 1 cubic foot.
What were the dimensions and weight for the listings where you are being overcharged? You can check to see exactly what you used on a listing but selecting Sell Similar from the drop down menu next to the sold item. Then scroll down to the shipping section.
While Fed Ex and UPS are known for adding surcharges USPS doesn't usually unless the package is irregular shape or long>

OP4 months agoThank you for your help. Yes I go over a little bit for packing but when an item is 18lbs and 15x15x15 and I pay $65 to ship it but usps said it was over 50lbs and bigger it’s impossible. I’m not using 30lbs of packing material. I guess what’s frustrating is I can show proof of size and I even take pics of the boxes I ship and it’s all done in vain. They won’t even acknowledge it. Frustrating is an understatement

Mentor4 months ago@alperf29 Did you go to the sold listings and see what the dimensions were on the listing as I suggested? We are trying to help you get to the bottom of the problem since it occurred more than one time.
You can dispute the extra charge>>
To check on shipping labels, go here: https://www.ebay.com/ship/lmng
Some of your shipping labels have cost adjustments.
If you think these adjustments are incorrect, you can contact USPS Customer Care at 1-844-819-5187 or verifypostagehelp@usps.gov to open a dispute. Make sure you have the IMPB and Revenue Assurance ID below to identify the adjustment. USPS will respond within 5-15 business days.

OP4 months agoYes and the weight and size they had were not correct. I submitted pictures and product information as well. I contacted eBay and they helped me dispute the charges but usps denied them. Be it a claim for broken in transit items or over charges usps dismisses tooo much too often. We are supposed to be protected but when this keeps happening how can anyone make a living ? I understand I made mistakes at the beginning but I learned and corrected them so why cant usps take responsibility when shown correct information and make it right

Mentor4 months agoAll shipping carriers will use DIM (Dimensional) weight pricing when the package is over one cubic foot. This can add substantial assumed weight to the actual package depending on the actual size of the package shipped causing high shipping charges. Also, long packages will have an additional surcharge applied by the shipping carrier. What are the item numbers of the listings so we can see exactly what items were packaged?
