USPS may have lost the package- I’m the seller
I mailed out my sale via USPS on January 8th (the day after the sale) and as of today has not arrived to the buyer - Brooklyn NY. I started a Missing Mail search at USPS. Is there any way I can recoup my loss of $400 if it is not found?

Your label includes $100 of insurance. You had the option to add more - if you did not, then the remaining value is your loss.
File a claim as soon as eligible - the package often gets found once the claim is filed. https://www.usps.com/help/claims.htm
