USPS Increase in Lost Packages
I have been an eBay buyer for nearly 30 years. Prior to November 2025, I had only 5 lost packages with USPS. Since November 2025, I have more than 20 lost packages (5 first class, and 15 ESE). It's like USPS is not even trying anymore. I have talked to the carrier, talked to the post office, filed missing mail requests, and escalated to the USPS customer service representative. I feel bad asking for refunds because the buyers are clearly shipping timely. Why doesn't eBay do something? Aren't they the party with the largest vested interest?

Mentor8 months agoThe ebay standard envelopes are "read" by the scanners at the sorting machines, so the seller needs to make sure the size and thickness meet the requirements. Then they are sent to your local post office for final delivery. That is why they show as DELIVERED several days before actually being delivered to the buyer.
If the seller has to refund the buyer for an Item Not Delivered case, the seller can get reimbursed by ebay.
