USPS Ground Advantage pricing glitch on eBay?
I sold a diecast item and first bought a USPS Ground Advantage label using estimated weight/dimensions. The label was about $11, but I canceled it after fully packing the item because the actual box size and weight were higher, and I didn’t want a post-office adjustment.
After updating the correct dimensions and weight using a ~22" box, eBay showed “DIM†and the Ground Advantage label jumped to $73, which seemed way too high. I canceled that label.
I then repacked the item into a shorter box, re-entered the new dimensions/weight, and immediately bought another Ground Advantage label. This time it came out to about $12, which makes sense. A USPS clerk also said $73 didn’t look right.
I’ve read (including from ChatGPT research) that there may be known eBay shipping calculator glitches where DIM, zones, or Priority Mail rates get applied incorrectly to Ground Advantage.
Has anyone else experienced this or found a workaround?

I haven't seen any other posts about discrepancies when it comes to USPS. (FedEx and UPS are another story.) Its more likely, you typed in an incorrect measurement and just didn't notice. For DIM to kick in, the package would have to be greater than 1,728 cubic inches.
