USPS does not allow hazardous items shipped
I purchased 2 glass candle jars which arrived smashed into large & small shards of glass. When I went to remove the first jar, I didn't see that the jar was smashed and ended up with a cut on my finger. The Seller used USPS Priority bubble envelopes to wrap the jars and then placed them in a box. Apparently these jars were broken prior to placing them into the bubble envelopes for shipping. Now the Seller is insisting I return a box with broken glass from 2 candle jars, USPS does not allow hazardous items shipped thru the mail.

The Seller may not realize that if you return the broken items, that will void their insurance coverage.
I would go to your Purchase History to this item and open a refund request with the reason that the items arrived damaged. You will be required to submit at least one photo of the damage.
The Seller will have three business days to issue a full refund. If they insist that you return the broken glass, message eBay on Facebook for guidance.

OP6 months agoThank you for the information you have provided, I really appreciate it. I was able to work things out with the Seller. I was quite upset at the onset and should have waited prior to putting my "fingers to the keys". After a few messages we resolved the issue. I followed instructions to request a refund with several photos. I received a refund immediately without returning a box full of broken glass. I also posted positive feedback for this Seller without mentioning any of the issues as I now know it was not the Seller's fault. Thank you again for your time and expert advice!
