USPS Delivered to wrong address
USPS acknowledged they delivered to the wrong address and can’t retrieve the item. They told me to contact the seller to make a claim. I contacted the seller and the seller refuses to make a claim and told me to contact the post office. They say since the tracking says delivered it is out of their hands. Post office says contact seller and seller say contact post office.

A buyer can file an insurance claim. If your post office won't help, you can try filing online.
https://www.usps.com/help/claims.htm
I think I might try this first.
1) This contact us form will likely get routed to your postmaster.
https://www.usps.com/help/contact-us.htm
2) USPS consumer affairs next
You can find the phone number here: https://postalpro.usps.com/ppro-tools/consumer-affairs
3) Insurance
Lastly, after trying all of the above, you can file a credit card chargeback, but save your documentation from above to submit with the chargeback.

I'm sorry that happened. Did USPS deliver to the WRONG address? Or did the label have the WRONG name and address.
1) First, call the post office to see if the tracking number label contained your name and your address.
-- If your name and address weren't on that label, ask the Post Office if they will put this in writing; it's helpful, but not required. (They won't tell you whose name *is* on the package, only that your name and address *is not*.) Also, ask for the weight of the package using that tracking number. Follow the rest of the steps starting with 2 below:
2) Then, report the seller using this process
https://www.ebay.com/help/action?topicid=4022
Important, select "Suspicious seller activity"
then "Other"
Explain that the seller is using fake USPS tracking numbers
Include these phrases
Don't write a novel, it's initially being read by a computer, that's why I want you to use those 3 specific phrases in the message.
3) Finally, contact Customer Service and inform them that the seller uploaded a "false tracking number" on your purchase. Share any documentation you gathered. Request a refund.
Use the Customer Service that is on social media this way:
Just sent a private message to the page. Explain you have a fake or false tracking number situation.
Let me know how this goes, I've been burned a few times myself (including on Amazon), but I have been able to get a refund following this process.
There are additional steps to take if the above isn't effective, just come back and update me.

OP7 months agoUSPS openly admitted they delivered to the wrong address and can’t get the package back. The post office told me the seller has to open an insurance claim because they are the ones that technically purchased the label. The address was correct on the label. I contacted the seller and the seller refuses to help. States it says delivered so they’re nothing they can do. So I’m just stuck in the middle and the seller and post office are point their fingers at each other.
