USPS damaged item in transit buyer requests refund and claims item not as described
Hello, I shipped an antique item that sold for $325.00 via USPS and insured it. The buyer claims that it arrived broken and is also saying that the listing description is inaccurate and has requested a full refund. USPS.com says I must submit a claim and that the item must not be shipped back and must not be thrown away until the claim is settled. I’m trying to avoid negative feedback and would like to do the right thing. Direction and advise greatly appreciated!

Mentor3 years agoAsk the buyer to send photos of the damaged item, the shipping label, the outer box, the inner packaging, and then set that all aside in case the postal service wants to inspect it. The seller needs to refund the buyer's full payment. Now the seller needs to file an insurance claim with the USPS, uploading all the photos the buyer sent.
