    Used shoe purchase
                     

    I purchased a used pair of shoes a month ago and I was not suppose to pay tax. I spoke to someone and they said it would take 30 days to process the refund for the tax and I haven’t heard or saw anything about it!

    Sales tax applies to used items in most states. At Goodwill, thrift stores, antique shops, etc. you pay sales tax. No different when you buy them online. eBay collects sales tax based on the sales tax laws and requirements they are provided with by the state the item is shipped to.
