UPS unable to deliver after 3 attempts, now buyer wants refund
I had an item that shipped via UPS with signature delivery and the buyer missed the three delivery attempts. Now the package is in UPS limbo and the buyer wants a refund. If I can get the item back that is fine, but I don't feel shipping fees are refundable considering it's the buyer that missed the delivery attempts and did not try to have the package held for pickup or make any attempt to facilitate a delivery. What can I do?

MentorSep 9, 2026 at 7:50 PM@rpsquaredinc just adding that attempted delivery does count in the sellers favor for not received refund request cases. Be sure to respond in the case with the tracking that says attempted delivery.

MentorSep 9, 2026 at 7:17 PMWait until the package is delivered back to you. Then you can refund just the item price, and relist the item for the buyer to purchase again if s/he still wants the item.

OPSep 9, 2026 at 7:56 PMThanks. I've noted the tracking number again in the 'not received' case details. And just confirming that ebay won't automatically refund the buyer prior to me receiving the package back?
