UPS overcharged me
UPS claims that my package weight and dimensions were incorrect therefore charging me an additional $8.98. When in fact, my weight and dimensions were indeed CORRECT.
1. I used eBay’s shipping supply box 12 x 12 x 12. UPS claims my box was 12 x 12 x 13.
2. The weight 2 lbs 9 oz is correct. UPS claims that weight was 12 lbs.
I generate and retain shipping detail before I purchase to print postage label. I always print 2 copies of the postage label (1 to use to send and the 2nd as copy for my file.
I would like eBay to help me appeal this over charge by UPS as UPS is incorrect and I have proof that my item does not weigh 12 lbs. and my box 12 x 12 x 12 was purchased with my quarterly $25 discount for ebay shipping supplies since I have an ebay store. (12 x 12 x 13 box is unusual size).
3. I feel that UPS manipulated the facts in order to make more money off of me.
Will I get relief?

Mentor2 years agoThe ebay 12x12x12 box are the inside dimensions, not the outside dimensions that is scanned for dimensional weight.

Mentor2 years agoThe charge is for dimensional weight, the differences of 12" inches versus 13". If you still have one of those boxes, measures the outside dimensions, all will be at least a 1/4" larger, but one appears to be 1/2" larger or the box had a budge or was out of square. This would round to 13" and causing the higher charge.
However, if the outside dimensions are all under 12.5" and the the box was square with no bulge, then UPS mis-scaned, something that does happen. Unfortunately by having ebay in the middle you'll have a tough time disputing it. In the future use your own account or a free PrirateShip account so things like this can be more easily resolved.
