UPS over charging for shipment

I used eBay for my shipping label. I paid $375 plus for it. I took the part to the ups store, he weighed it, said it was under 150 lbs. I paid another $370 for packaging. It was supposed to be next day air. The buyer received it 8 days later. UPS charged me another $1922 for shipping saying it was over 150 lbs. they won’t deal with me saying it’s eBay’s shipping account. I can’t get any help from eBay on this. I have the manger from the UPS store recorded telling the account division he weighed it in store.

When you shipped the item using eBay shipping did you use the correct dimensions for the package? Did you select large package? If you were off, you would be charged a correction, which usually shows as a weight difference.

UPS will apply a Large Package Surcharge for packages with the following characteristics:
Package exceeds:
48 inches along its longest side
30 inches along its second longest side
105 inches in length and girth. Length plus girth is calculated by adding length to 2 x height + 2 x width
Cubic volume exceeds 17,280 cubic inches (10 cubic feet). Cubic volume is calculated by multiplying the length, width and height together
Weighs over 110 lbs
Minimum billable weight of 90 lbs will be applied for all packages that incur a Large Package Surcharge.

OP1 month agoI took it in the store and he weighed it and packaged it. Said it wouldn’t fall into a different category for shipping. He’s working with me to get it fixed but ups won’t deal with us much since it’s an eBay shipping account.

Mentor1 month ago@samsmithframer11 You can try disputing the charged with UPS.
Only eBay customer service can file the dispute since they are the UPS customer. I recommend contacting CS on social media to ask them to do this.
Keep in mind that UPS does sometimes add incorrect surcharges but there are CORRECT surcharges that you can read about on the UPS website.
Personally if I have an item that is too large or heavy to ship via USPS then I use UPS and buy the label from Pirateship. Pirateship helps with insurance claims and surcharge disputes. UPS does have a list of valid surcharges on their website too. UPS does not add surcharges as often as Fed Ex does.
Social media is the best way to contact customer service for this issue.

Then Type PAYOUT In the chat bot box on the lower right.
Then AGENT after the bot responds. You might have to repeat those steps.
Or you can also contact customer service by sending a PRIVATE message on social media. Customer service verifies your identity before responding.
