UPS Insurance requiring eBay's involvement
A buyer received an item damaged during shipping and I called to open a claim with UPS. They sent me paperwork and a link to continue but the claim number and shipper number were invalid. When I called them they said that since the label was purchased through eBay I had to open the claim there. According to "eBay's Help" I have to file the claim with UPS. I cannot get in touch with anyone at eBay to figure this out. Has anyone else had this issue? I've not had this problem with USPS insurance claims. Thanks in advance!

OP1 year agoI won't use UPS through eBay going forward but how are we supposed to know that? The very fact that there are step-by-step instructions suggests you can file insurance claims for packages sent through eBay, but that is not true. I followed all of those instructions the first time and got an error message.

Mentor1 year agoThis is why not to ship UPS or FedEx through ebay, use your own account or a free PirateShip account.
The process for labels purchased through eBay is specific. Follow the instructions here:
