UPS box weight is NOT ACCURATE
I sent a package that weighed 2 lbs and paid for the label through ebay. UPS says the box weighed 14 lbs which is NOT possible. The item itself weighs less that a lb and the packaging is what makes it weigh 2 lbs. How do I challenge? UPS wants to charge me an extra $14 which is more than the original label.

Mentor3 weeks ago@joadu6337 That sounds like a dimensional weight surcharge, shipping prices are charged based on the package size not just weight and distance to the buyer. You can try disputing the charged with UPS.
Keep in mind that the dimensions printed on a box are for the OUTSIDE.
Only eBay customer service can file the dispute since they are the UPS customer. I recommend contacting CS on social media to ask them to do this
Keep in mind that UPS does sometimes add incorrect surcharges but there are CORRECT surcharges that you can read about on the UPS website.
Personally if I have an item that is too large or heavy to ship via USPS then I use UPS and buy the label from Pirateship.
Pirateship helps with insurance claims and surcharge disputes. UPS does not add surcharges as often as Fed Ex does.
Social media is the best way to contact customer service for this issue.
Here's how to contact eBay general customer service. ( I feel that it's ok to use this option since it does affect your bottom line.)
Click this link> https://www.ebay.com/help/selling/getting-paid/getting-paid-items-youve-sold?id=4814
Then Type PAYOUT In the chat bot box on the lower right.
Then AGENT after the bot responds. You might have to repeat those steps.
Or you can also contact customer service by sending a PRIVATE message on social media. Customer service verifies your identity before responding.

Mentor3 weeks agoWhat were the dimensions of the package? If more than 1728 cubic inches, UPS most likely charged you for dimensional weight.
