Updating Tax ID
Hello, Im a Canadian citizen who just recently turned 18 and started selling items on eBay, After my last sale a message popped up that I need to add my SIN (Social Insurance Number), Or I could possibly be fined 500$ By The CRA (Canadian Revenue Agency), Im wondering how much time I have before I need to update the information, Im a new seller and I've NEVER Filed taxes or done anything of the sort, I'm assuming my parents take care of that, but since I'm the one selling now, and my parents have no clue about this eBay account or sales I've been making I'm wondering what I should do, and if theres a way to just stop selling completely and not have to add a Tax ID, If someone could help with a reply please do :).

Mentor1 year agoThis is ebay.com, the USA site.
You are located in Canada.
You need to return to your home site: https://www.ebay.ca
On ebay.com, ebay can hold payments until all the information requested is received. I would think that would be similar on the Canadian site as well.
There is currently a glitch when you search, bringing you over here.
In the future, use the SHOP BY CATEGORY on the left side of the screen, or type in your KEYWORDS and then use the SEARCH on the right side.
