Update Shipping Charge on item in Cancel

Question

First time seller. I had an accepted offer, buyer sent cancellation because of high shipping cost. I didn't and still might not know how to set the shipping cost. The original cost was something ridiculous like $75 to ship from WI to NJ. Buyer agreed to still make purchase if I would accept a more reasonable shipping cost.

-Ask the Buyer if they can "Request and updated invoice" through their cart if they haven't paid yet ... you can then adjust the shipping cost down and send the invoice to them for payment.

-If the Buyer has paid (or if you two agree to this) you can refund the overage to them after you pack the item and know the exact shipping costs. Refunding can be done via the item's pull down menu - "Send refund" is near the bottom of the list of choices

-You need to create listings with more accurate weights and dimensions of the package with the item in it when you create the listing AND use the Calculated setting so Buyers can see what they have to pay.

When you create the listing, select Calculated shipping. You will then need to enter the weight of the packaged item, and the dimensions of the package (round up to the nearest inch), and the shipping method. If the packaged weight is up to 15.99 ounces, select first class package, if over that weight select priority. ebay will calculate the shipping cost from your zip code to the buyer's zip code.
