unwanted refund
How is it fair that when I submit an offer, it is a contract for me to pay (on my provided credit card) but a seller is under no obligation to actually follow through and ship my item at the accepted price? I do not want a refund. I want the item I paid for. I've been buying a lot on ebay the last 2 months but this "surprise refund" has happened twice now and it has shaken my confidence in ebay sellers. Why should I waste my time searching ebay, dogging an auction and waiting for a shipping notice that never comes? Lesson learned: I will be cutting WAY BACK on ebay.

OP2 years agoI'm afraid I have confused the issue here. I am saying the 2 contracts are not equal. I did NOT make an offer on this particular auction, I bid on the auction. The time ran out and I was the winner. I paid immediately, as I always do. Seller did not send. I asked about it and along came a refund. I never asked for or wanted a refund. I want the product I won. The seller should be just as obligated to ship as I am obligated to pay when I DO make an offer. I am saying the obligation here is unequal and unfair. I skipped 2 auctions yesterday because of it.

Mentor2 years agoSorry, but you said offer not auction. Follow the instructions for an item not received.

Mentor2 years agoHi @mi_9021
eBay allows Buyers to file a claim that they did not receive their item one day past the original estimated delivery date. On the item in your Purchase history is where you would initiate that claim. The claim process allows the Seller 4 days to upload a valid tracking number. Failing that, the Buyer can go back to the claim and ask eBay to step in and force the refund.

Mentor2 years agoMaking an offer is not a sale unless the seller accepts. Your credit card is only charged if the offer is accepted.

OP2 years agoI had already won the auction AND paid. Nothing happened for about 10 days.

OP2 years agoThank you. I made another post as I did not describe what happened in a clear way.
