Unusual bid increment, computer glitch?
I bid for an item
https://www.ebay.com/itm/175847118495 with my maximum bid of $55.55 when the highest bid was $28. Instead of advancing my bid to $29, it automatically pushed it to $50 while the next higher bid was still at $28. Please see attached photo.
Is that a computer glitch that advance my bid by $22 instead the regular $1 increment?
i would appreciate how to contact eBay to rectify it. Thanks in advance for your help.

·2 years agoDid you notice the "Reserve not met" designation before you bid but its absence after? eBay got rid of the "Reserve met" designation on the listing page many years ago and then more recently on the Bid History Page (they removed it at the same time but back then they actually listened to us and put it back on the latter; but now they don't seem to care).
The auction had a Reserve Price of C$50.00 (Canadian Dollars CAD) which your $55.55 bid met. eBay uses as much of your bid as necessary to win/lead and you have to meet the Reserve to win so the "current bid" automatically "jumps up" to the exact Reserve Price as soon as someone places a bid that meets it if the prior leading bidder's maximum bid isn't high enough to push it up at least that high Until and unless the Reserve is met you can't win with the bid you placed (and it is safe to move on to another listing or source for the item or use for your money, unlike simply being outbid, since no action by anyone else can make you the winner at the end if it was "Reserve not met" after you bid) so if you placed other bids before then (trying to meet the Reserve) they would all show at 1 increment over the underbidder's maximum or at the Starting Price (which was the case before YOU bid on this auction--you did not see the C$28.00 bid amount, you saw at most C$13.00--the screenshot you posted doesn't show the Starting Price or any bids before the C$13.00 one).
