I placed an order with an eBay seller 5 days ago who then changed the terms of the sale after payment was made, and now refuses to ship item paid for, or refund purchase price, or even reply to numerous messages sent to them. And eBay says they will do nothing about it, and tells me to deal with the seller, at which point I took it up with PayPal, who basically said the same thing, at which point I took it up with my Credit Card company. Problem is the Credit Card was only used for roughly 75% of the almost $1000.00 purchase price, while the other 25% came from a credit I had on my PayPal account.
This experience leaves me with the understanding that sellers can deliberately provide false information on their listings, such as country product ships from, and get away with it. eBay will do nothing to stop or prevent it, and cares not about buyers using their platform being defrauded. And PayPal is no better.
