Unsold item fee
So I tried to sell a Bmx bike and listed it with a reserve price, unknowing that I would have to pay a fee if it didn’t sell, and now eBay is sending me to collections. Is there any way to talk to a real human who can help me figure this out?

Mentor9 months ago@jacbif_0 Sorry but reserve price fee is due even if the item doesn't sell. Always start auctions at a price you are happy with if you get just one bid.
You need to pay the bill before it hurts your credit rating. Your credit rating affects everting from how much interest you pay on loans to renting an apartment.

OP9 months agoI have to pay it even if there wasn’t a warning telling me I would have to pay a fee? How am I supposed to know if it’s my first time posting on eBay???

OP9 months agoIf it had a warning telling me it charged a fee for the reserve I would’ve just used the bidding and set the starting bid at my reserve….
this account literally has 0 sold items, so how would I know?

Mentor9 months ago@jacbif_0. The fee is shown at the bottom of the screen before you submit the listing with a little "i" you can click on for more information.
I understand how it can be missed.
You can try contacting customer service and see if they will wave the fee.

There are TWO warnings on the Advanced listing tool -
1 by the Reserve entry and 1 at the bottom before you submit (the $5 fee is an example on a $50 Reserve)
