Unregistered buyers
I am sure this has been addressed, but I need some answers. Buyer won my auction, paid, I shipped. Ebay cancels auction due to buyer not being registered. I can't get item back. Does Ebay pay me? How can unregistered buyers bid?

·2 years agoDid the buyer ACTUALLY pay you or did you just get an email or text from "eBay" saying that you had been paid? Did you buy the shipping label through eBay? If the buyer had actually paid (which would be noted on your list of sold items, check the detail for this transaction) then eBay would have the funds to send to you (and should be sent to you once any holds have elapsed).
On the other hand if the buyer had your email address (did s/he request you email or text him/her?) and sent a fake payment and shipping email/text and you fell for it then the money (which never existed) and item are gone.

OP2 years agoThank you, it looks like the proceeds were sent to my bank account. I was concerned that Ebay could hold the proceeds or not deposit them at all. There was no request from buyer for email. Shipping label was not purchased thru Ebay. Why are these unregistered buyers even allowed to bid?

·2 years agoS/he was not "unregistered" when s/he bid. That happened later (hence the "No Longer" terminology used sometimes in the status display as opposed to the older "Not A Registered User"). Sometimes eBay will do an "Administrative Cancellation" of the bid if s/he is NLARU'd before the end of the auction.

Mentor2 years agoHas the payment reached your checking account? ebay may have cancelled the transaction, but I don't believe they can take back the payment. Depending on the price of the item and when you shipped it, you might be able to retrieve the package. I don't remember the exact term for it, but the charge is about $15 and no guarantees.
