Unrecognized charge by eBay, but they claim that it is from USPS!

Question

eBay charged my bank account (not the credit card) for an unknown fee. The balance in my bank account was lower than the amount, so the bank charged me additional fees. When I contacted eBay, they claimed that it was USPS who charged me! I have never shared my financial information with anyone other than eBay.

Does eBay sell or share users' information with other entities without consent? Why don't eBay or any other organization send a bill instead of accessing the bank account without permission? How can I dispute this, especially considering that I am currently traveling abroad and unable to make a phone call at the moment?

How about sending a bill, and I can choose my preferred payment method, instead of charging whatever bank account they come across? (Thanks to eBay for sharing my financial information with third parties without consent.)

If you bought postage though eBay and then the Post office can charge you if the postage was not correct..
