unreasonable buyer complaint
Had a buyer complain about a Snap on Tool that was missing a part. I specified "will need specific replacement part and sold as is. I even put in the title, "read description."
Buyer sent email saying the tool is useless to him and I didn't indicate it needed something and he can't get it repaired.
I haven't responded yet. What should I do?

Mentor11 months agoHave the buyer file a returns request.
If the buyer files a Returns Request for Item Not as Described, the seller WILL accept the return and pay for a return shipping label. ebay's Money Back Guarantee trumps a seller's No Returns policy if the item is damaged or not as described. The no returns policy is only for buyer's remorse: didn't like it, changed mind, doesn't fit, found it cheaper elsewhere. For any of those reasons, the seller can decline the returns request. There is no such thing as "as is" on ebay.
If you relist the item, specify the item that needs to be purchased in order to make the tool usable. It would appear the buyer did not understand your statement "will need specific replacement part and sold as is."
