unknown person claims item phony
Member claims ralph lauren barn jacket i listed is phony. I purchased jacket from Nordstrom's downtown Seattle store in 1975. Claims to work for Lauren's manager management (his words) and tag is phony and Nordstrom's is known for selling knockoff items. I have found many of the same item with same tags listed in eBay. How do I get eBay to get medical_87 to back off. medical_87 has no history of selling and only buys knives on eBay.

Mentor2 years agoSince this buyer has not yet filed a Request for Return, it is likely they are phishing for a partial refund.
While this may sound counterintuitive it is the best thing for you to do.
Send the buyer a very polite and professional email. Assure them that the time is the real thing, but if they have concern to feel free to file a Request for Return and you will process the return and refund for them once the item is received back.
Don't try to battle this, it will end up hurting you. Don't argue with the buyer either as that will not serve any good purpose.
If the buyer really has an issue with the item, they will file for the return, if they don't and are just trying to shake some money out of you, they will likely just go away. But don't be surprised if they try again by sending you an email not wanting to return the item. If that happens, your answer is simple.
I'm sorry there appears to be an issue. Please file a Request for Return and we will get the process started right away for you.
Leave it at that. Rinse and repeat as necessary if they keep emailing you.
They will either go away or file for the return.
