unfair feedback
Summary: korova-milkbar expressed concerns about a feedback rating on eBay they found unfair and discussed their experience with the appeal process. They felt the feedback should be reviewed by an impartial panel, but instead, eBay asked the buyer if they wanted to retract the feedback. lady_madonna and disneyshopper clarified that the feedback was neutral and did not negatively impact korova-milkbar's positive feedback percentage.
A buyer left me what I consider an unfair feedback rating on a purchase.
I appealed for a review of the feedback in an attempt to have it removed.
For some reason I thought that such a request would go to an impartial panel for review.
Instead it appears that eBay contacted the buyer to ask if they would like to retract the feedback.
I had offered a full unconditional refund but After they left the unsavory feedback they told me it would have played out differently if I had of offered some of their payment back. They stated that the item "was in exceptional condition for it's age " but apparently would have felt better if they had bought it for less.
So.. why would a buyer that just left a poor review suddenly decide to remove it because eBay asked.
eBay is having me judged by the party that just trashed me.

Mentor1 month agoThe buyer left a Neutral feedback, not a Negative. It does not affect your 100% positive feedback.

Mentor1 month agoThe buyer did not "trash" you. They left a factual neutral feedback which will not affect your feedback percentage.

OP1 month agoThey could have left the same comment as a positive feedback but the comment would still be the same.
"Factual neutral feedback" would suggest truth of which this feedback staement was not.
Letting the buyer decide the outcome of a "review" is both misleading and simply unethical.
Thank you eBay mentors for your input.
