Unfair End of Auction Fee
I am being charged an end of listing fee of $86.13 to my bank account on July 31, 2024. I did not realize that buyers from outside the lower 48 states could bid on the item. I received two bids on the item above, one from Canada and one from Finland. I stated in my description that the auction was for the lower 48 states of the US. So, I ended the auction early to revise the listing, I was otherwise prohibited from doing so, and then after excluding locations outside the auction area I immediately relisted it. I cannot find a way to communicate this issue with anyone. Essentially, when it sells I will be double charged.

In the future be aware that nothing you put in your listings affects whether or not foreigners can bid on your items. While you can exclude shipping to Hawaii and Alaska you have to set all of that up on this page: Shipping Preferences (ebay.com)
Go to the Exclude shipping locations and check your settings.

According to Ebay, when you end an auction early "You may be charged a final value fee based on the amount of the highest bid".

Maybe the unwelcome bidders had a U.S. shipping address.

OP2 years agoNo, I could see their locations on the bids. One was from Finland and the other was from Canada. I did finally get to speak with someone who listened to what I had to say and agreed to have the end of auction fee erased. So, I am happy with the outcome.

Mentor2 years agoI looked at your 2 active listings. It looks like you are not aware that the postal service will add a surcharge for packages longer than 22 inches, which is why sellers of golf clubs have switched to using Fed Ex and UPS. I suggest you revise your listings and select one of those carriers for your golf club listings.
