Unfair collection practices on eBay’s part
eBay is collecting fees based on income the buyer does not receive such as the total INCLUDING the sales tax. So for instance, I sell something for $209 free shipping. Then I also have to pay fees on $226.50!!! And my net proceeds are only $180.00… a perfect example of GREED

Mentor2 years agoWould you prefer a higher % on the lower amount? The fee is not going to go down if they change the math - the rate will just go up.
The real question is do you feel you are getting a good service for the price you pay? I do. If I didn’t, I would not continue to sell here.

OP2 years agoeBay is a good sales person. They shouldn’t base the final value fee on the total amount plus the tax. The seller isn’t seeing that money even though it’s being deducted anyway. It just isn’t fair and with hyper inflation they should try and take it easier on small businesses… what’s wrong with people nowadays smh

Mentor2 years agoYou are missing my point. Would you happier with 14% on just the item instead of 13.25% on the total? The fee would be the same. The fee is not going to go down. They set the rate to bring in the revenue they need to meet their business plan.
