    unexpected extra shipping cost
                     

    my buyer paid the Shipping cost of $5.99, but then on the packing slip it stated that shipping cost was $25.87.  why is this?

    That item was listed with USPS First Class Mail shipping.  Since First Class Mail Shipping does not have tracking eBay will not allow you to use that shipping method.  You would need to use a class of service that provided tracking.  Also, that item packaged would never ship for $5.99 even as First Class Mail.  The package weight would be over 16 ounces which is the max for First Class Mail.

     

    Since the buyer paid $5.99 you must have used Flat Rate shipping and not Calculated Shipping on the listing.
