Under paid by ebay

Question

I sold a pair of bindings, that with postage, the buyer paid 160.33.

I opted for insurance which was about $3.00

At 13% fee plus the postage and insurance, the amount to be paid to me was to be $137.11

I was paid $117.

I can't find any option, other than this,.to contest the amount.

That sounds frustrating.

Your "available funds" are a running total, so there may be other fees from other listings and sales intermingled. Each payout can cover multiple transactions.

From your gross sales (Price + Shipping, if any + Sales Tax) eBay will deduct

Sales Tax (remitted to the state)

Shipping labels

Final Value Fees FVF

Insertion fees (if any)

Promoted listing fees (if any)

Store Fees (if any)

etc.

Here are some sample numbers which might be helpful:

Example $150 price + $10.33 shipping + $ ? .00 Sales Tax = $160.33 Total paid by Buyer

You get $150 + $10.33 = $160.33 (eBay handles sales tax)

- $22.20 (Selling fees $160.33 x.1360 = $21.80 + .40 = $22.20 -- 13.60% is the FVF for most categories)

- $10.33 (Shipping whatever the ACTUAL label costs.. could be $4.50 or $25.00)

- $ 3.00 (insurance)

$124.80 Net to you.

I suspect the other $7 or so is either a promoted listing or your shipping label cost more than 10.33
