unable to perform an exact search on "weiss"
Searching for "weiss" returns many results that do not contain that term. Ebay seems to think this is equivalent to "jewelry".

OP2 years agoYes, I do put quotes around the search term. I am expecting to see only results where the search term is present in the title. But I am also seeing results where the term is present in the description. Note that I have not checked the "include description" checkbox. Is there anyway to limit the search results to only those that include the search term in the title?

If by "description" you mean "item-specifics", that is how eBay's search works by default.
Is there anyway to limit the search results to only those that include the search term in the title?
No. You will see any listing that has weiss in the title or item-specifics unless you limit your search in other ways, by using additional keywords, grouping keywords, using exclusions, changing the category, or using filters.
What are you trying to find, exactly? Chances are there is a way to search that will show you what you want to see and avoid what you don't if you can be specific enough about what you are looking for.
The more specific your search is, the easier it is to avoid unwanted results.
If you are looking for items made by Weiss Jewelry, consider using the Brand filter while searching a Jewelry category:

That should force eBay to provide only exact, literal matches to all your search terms in all categories. You may still see results where that keyword appears in the item-specifics rather than in the title, though.
What category are you searching? Weiss is the name of a large jewelry company, and a default search for weiss is steered into the Vintage and Antique Jewelry category, where there are about 11,000 results that contain that keyword.
