Uggs authentic?

Hi. I purchased a pair of uggs on here but the inside label is marked sloppily with red marker. I’m being told this seller buys directly from Ugg factory, they are authentic but this is done to prevent in store returns since selling at a discounted price. Ever heard of this? Am I being scammed? Please help.
