Trying to Return a Defective Item But Seller Keeps uploading an image of a pre-existing label
Trying to Return a Defective Item But Seller Keeps uploading an image of a pre-existing label. How am I supposed to deal with a low resolution image of a label?? Is this permitted? For some reason there is no formal way for eBay to intervene even after I have contacted the seller twice and initiated the return. If it's going to be this difficult to return an item when it is obviously defective, I am tempted to shut down my account and cease using eBay for purchases. I have been using the site since 2007 and never had this level of complexity and difficulty in completing a return.

When you say you "initiated" the return did you just work it out with the Seller or did you file an official claim through the item in your Purchase history using the reason "does not match pictures or description"? The Seller is trying to string you out past 30 days from the date of receipt so that you cannot do anything through eBay and have the MBG work for you: eBay Money Back Guarantee policy
If you did NOT process an official claim through eBay then I suggest that you do so now, let the return process work for you and eBay will issue you a pre-padi shipping label, you can return the item and the seller will have 2 days to refund you, if they don't you go back to the claim and ask eBay to step in. Using this approach you do not have to involve the Seller.
