Trying to reactivate my selling account after years of being restricted
I was one of the many who was banned from selling due to the never explained purge of sellers about 10 years ago or more. I would like to get my selling account reactivated but I find no information on how or who to contact to appeal. To be clear, I had over 4000 positive feedback at the time and I did nothing wrong!!

OP2 years ago@lady_madonna Thank you! My apologies for my comment. It wasn't meant for those responding here but going thru the "Contact" hoops Ebay provides. I appreciate the link! Stay tuned 😉

OP2 years agoThank you both for replying but I suggest if you want to help, Google Ebay Purges Sellers. It was a big deal and had lots of national coverage. Here is just a sample and her site has many more references to what was a purge.

I'm just looking for an actual human being who can explain how and if my account can be reinstated.

I see what you mean. Yes, you're right. I don't remember that, but then, I don't remember anything else about 2013 either. 😀

OP2 years agoSo I contacted EBay via Chat and this was their response. A ridiculous explanation that say's absolutely nothing why I and 50,000 or more other sellers were unceremoniously suspended. I was trying to reestablish my account and understand why. I am not going to bother pursuing it because there is nothing further I can do anyway and I am very happy to be on ETSY, a much friendlier platform to it's sellers with less fees and less draconian rules.

Mentor2 years agoHi @stuffnclutter We all could have saved you that effort. Once eBay closes an account, for any reason, it cannot be reinstated. You will need to open a new account and start fresh. Good luck!

I don't remember that, but banned and purged aren't the same thing. Maybe you're thinking about accounts being purged because of long-time dormancy. It has to be a really long time.
I agree with disney. Your difficulty stems from the new Managed Payments type of, uh, managing payments.

and has 4950 feedback. It sounds like this is the account you are referencing.
ebay uses Managed Payments to send funds to sellers' checking accounts.

First, make sure the registered name on ebay matches exactly to the name on your checking account. You can make any changes here:
My ebay > Summary > Account > Personal information
Make sure you supply a physical street address. You can change to your P.O. box later.
If you want to change the checking account, go here:
Seller Hub > Payments > Payout settings> Payout method
