Trying to figure out why a listing was pulled
I have heard that ebay customer service is basically non existent (except for canned answers and faq's). Now I see. I did try to figure out how to get an answer but no go and so hoping someone can answer this. I had an item pulled that ebay said was "counterfit" BUT counterfit WHAT? It was a necklace with a rhinestone charm... not passed off as, I dunno, diamonds? I also looked up the shape of the charm to see if it was something a brand uses and found nothing in my search. MAYBE that was it, but I need to know. I found nothing on an internet search...So...it's listed as rhinestones on a metal chain so no claims of anything there and doesn't appear to be anyone's logo. I want to learn from my mistake but I can't because I don't know what was wrong. I appealed the decision but just got a canned response stating it was counterfit...but HOW can I learn if they don't tell me WHATwas a counterfit about it. I feel like some bot pulled it and some bot responded and there are no humans involved. I just want a human to say, "We pulled it because it looks like a fake such in such."

Mentor1 year agoWe can't see your listing.
I can only speculate.
What category did you list it in?
Did you use any words such as sterling or diamonds or did you say things like "not diamonds" Did you say anything like "Looks like" or "Seems like"
Did you use a brand name? If you tell lme the title and the category I might be able to give more insignt.

OP1 year agoThanks for replying. I did not use any term like diamonds or anything like that. Here is the title:Pretty snake chain bracelet with rhinestone clover charm silver tone.
I listed it in fashion jewelry I think
Description: Pretty silver tone snake chain bracelet with a four-leaf clover-shaped rhinestone charm. Measures 7.25 inches end to end. In very good vintage shape.
That's it. This is why I can't figure out what is wrong. If they just would say, then I would know. This is on other sites with no problems at all.
Thanks. I did remove the listing from Ebay...figuring I will never know. BUT the things you have asked about do help me when thinking about descriptions.
