Trusting what they say
He says he got the wrong item. He opened the box and it was not what was posted. I NEVER opened the box. Now I have to take his word he got the wrong item. That he didn’t switch it with another item. In todays world it’s so hard to trust people. He can send pics till we land on the moon. That won’t change the idea that it is pics of his old item. Plus he then said he mailed it to Puerto Rico. And it is today that he is responding to me, when the item has been delivered a week ago.
I really don’t know what to do here. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

·3 years agoSince you never opened the box, you don't know what was in it.
If the buyer files an INAD and you want something returned before refunding, accept the return and pay return shipping.

As a New Seller you are a target for this type of a scam, they want to make you panic and refund as a knee jerk reaction. Here are some suggestions.
-Message back with a simple statement that the pictures are not what you sent or he purchased and perhaps he has you confused with another Seller's item. Again, just state the pictures are not of what you sent.
-Wait to see if he files an Item Not received claim for a return.
-Here is a link to the eBay Help Pages on Seller Protection. Read through them as some may apply on a bogus return.

-Where the Buyer ships something after they receive it has nothing to do with you nor are you responsible for a return at a location other than the original shipping address.
