Troubles searching for items and with images loading
What is going on? Searches are snail slow (if they even complete which they often do NOT), images take forever (if they even load at all)... this is 2 weeks now using different ISPs and computers and it's hit or miss? I'm getting to the point I don't even want to bother searching for items anymore! I spend a LOT of $$ every year on eBay... this is unacceptable! What's happening???
Any difference if you temporarily disable your ad blocker?
There are some common ad blocking rules that can be problematic with eBay searches. In particular "Anti-circumvention" filters in Ad Block, or "ABP filters" in Ad Block Plus.
Disabled, restarted... no help. Yet yesterday for about an hour the images came with zero issues. This morning with an even better connection I gave up on searches... they wouldn't even load!
It might be worth trying a non-Chromium browser such as Firefox, Opera or Brave.
I have heard of problems caused by certain types of security add-ons such as Browserguard, so if you are using that, try disabling it to see if that makes a difference.
I may try Opra next. I run Brave at home, but that's back home and I'm 1,600 miles away. I was in Switzerland with this machine I'm using ATM... that was Oct/Nov and ZERO issues over there with eBay, YouTube and all the other sites I frequent like ZeroHedge, Babylon Bee... almost all of those are working fine here (but noticebly slower and now with the Captcha **bleep** in between...annoying AF), but eBay and YouTube are absolutely the worst offenders.
I also read online that AI is blasting sites trying to "learn" and other Bots are out there. So AI is something I have ZERO interest in using personally and that's okay, but when AI starts impacting my internet experience without my permission I'm quick to form an Opinion about it that quickly shifts from Neutral to outright Hatred.

What operating system are you using?
What browsers have you tried? Any difference if you use a private or incognito browser window?
Any difference if you disable other add-ons? Perhaps there is a conflict with another add-on.
It might be worth trying a new install of a popular browser you have not used before, with default settings and no add-ons installed.

Mentor2 months agoAre you in Switzerland right now?
Any difference if you use ebay.ch or ebay.co.uk instead of ebay.com?
