Tried to change reason for return and accidentally closed my return. Ebay or seller will not help
I ordered a part and when I opened it, it was incorrect. I thought I ordered the wrong part number and began a return process stating that I ordered the wrong part.
Upon further inspection, I realized I had in fact ordered the correct part and that part number was on the package. However, it was mislabeled on the packaging. Therefore, it was not my fault, but the sellers responsibility.
So, I attempted to amend my return reason and inadvertently closed the order completely (I was only trying to cancel the initial return and put in for another return for the correct reason). Ebay isn't easy to contact and all advice says I can't follow up because I closed it. The seller says they would process the return if possible, but Ebay wont allow them.
Advice?

Mentor10 months agoUnfortunately since you closed the return you cannot open another one. The seller can still refund you if they want to but you just cannot use the eBay process for returns and eBay will not be able to help if they refuse to follow through. Ask the seller to send you a return label (this will need to be done outside of eBay) and then once they get the item back they should refund you.
If the seller refuses to do this then go to your payment source and ask for a charge back.
