Tricked To Wait After The Return Period

Question

I bought a Windows 10 disc and found that the key didn't work on it and tried to return it. The seller told me to wait for a bit until a new update came out or something to that effect. I waited and unfortunately past the return period as the seller told me to.

Now there seems to me no retribution path I can take with Ebay to return the product or get my money back!
