The exact percentage varies by category and a few other factors such as a store subscription.
In most categories, eBay's fee is about 13.6% of what the buyer pays in total, including shipping and sales tax, plus 40 cents if the order total is above $10 or 30 cents at or below $10.
In most cases, there are no listing/insertion fees... unless you select an optional upgrade. If you choose a listing option that has a fee, that is paid whether your item sells or not.
Final Value Fees are only when your item sells.
In most cases, the Final Value Fee is 13.60% of the sale (Selling Price + Shipping + Sales Tax)
Please check this help page as some fees are higher and some are lower.
"How do I adjust the selling price to make up the differ of the transaction and not raise the transaction fee costs?"
You cannot unilaterally change eBay's Final Value Fee (FVF) percentage fee or per-order fixed fee.
IF you have chosen to use one of eBay's Promoted Listings programs, you may change the percentage.
About the FVF percentage amount:
If you increase your listed prices, the dollar amount of the percentage fee will virtually always increase.
Conversely, if you decrease your listed prices, the dollar amount of the percentage fee will virtually always decrease.
You must understand that the percentage of the FVF is applied to the Total Amount Paid by the Buyer.
That Total Amount will be the price of the item + the shipping price shown in the listing + sales taxes at the rate in effect in the zip code of the delivery address.
The per-order fixed fee will be either 30 cents or 40 cents, depending on whether the Total Amount Paid by your Buyer is under or over $10.00.

100 * 13.60% = $13.60 + .40 = $14.00
But it will be a little higher, depending on shipping and sales tax.

If you want to net $100 in a category where the FVF is 13.6% + .40 it's a math formula
You'll get 100% - 13.6% = 86.4%
100/.864 = $115.74 Price should be $115.74 also add the .40 cents
But the fees are charged on what the buyer pays: Price + Shipping + Sales tax, so it's actually impossible to know to the penny
So estimate your shipping and sales tax say $10 shipping and $7 sales tax
117/.864 = $135.42 total price
Less 17.00 est sales tax and shipping
Less FVF 18.42
Less .40 .40
Equals = $99.60 estimated net to seller
Total less shipping and tax = 135.42-17.00 -- Suggested Price 118.42 or $120 to be simple.
There are a lot of things I don't know.. will $10 ship you item?
