Transaction fee.
I just sold a camera for 375.00 and was charged a transaction fee of 56.00 That's 15% of the sale. This isn't right. I want a review of these charges.

OP10 months agoWell, that's what you get for not reviewing the terms of the sale. I'll just have to add 15% to the final price of everything I sell. You can't tell me that all the camera stores on eBay are charged this same rate.

It doesn't look like you are selling from an "eBay Store."
eBay offers larger-volume sellers the opportunity to establish an "eBay Store" on a subscription basis.
Some subscription levels of stores do pay lower Final Value Fees (FVFs) on certain categories of items.
BUT: Store Subscriptions also require monthly payments to eBay of prices ranging widely, from $4.95 to $349.95, roughly.
If you choose to subscribe to eBay's "Basic" store program, the FVF for sales of cameras is 9.35%, on individual sales up to $2,500.
Yes, 9.35% is much less than the 13.6% that non-Store subscribers pay for selling a camera on eBay.
BUT: Basic store subscribers, who renew their store subscription every month, must pay $27.95 to eBay every month.
(Basic store subscribers who renew the store subscription yearly pay $21.95 to eBay every month.)
I think you'd have to sell a lot of cameras in order to make a mandatory monthly payment to eBay in the amount of $27.95 or $21.95 economically practical.
BTW, Starter Store subscribers pay as little as $4.95 per month to eBay, but their FVF on cameras is not reduced.
Starter Store subscribers still pay a 13.6% FVF on sales of cameras.

eBay charges a final value fee on the total buyer's payment which included the item, shipping , sales tax and any other fees the buyer pays. Most categories it is 13.6% plus a per order fee of 40 cents
Your item price was $375 and assuming the buyer paid sales tax of approx 10% your final value would be approx the amount you paid of $56.
You can see a breakdown of the fee on the order details. Go to your orders/sold page and in the drop down menu is the order details option.
